As an intuitive painter, my art is deeply layered and inspired by my life experiences, spirituality and the world around me. Meditation and prayer help me clear space for creativity, allowing messages from my Guardian Angel and spirit guides to guide the process. I often begin with inspirational words and mark-making, then move into vibrant layers of color. I often paint directly from dreams or memories and sometimes the meaning of a piece reveals itself months later.
I find joy in honoring loved ones and incorporating elements from my travels, conversations with my daughters, and the beauty of nature. Inspiration is everywhere! As a DUKE Certified Health & Well-Being Coach, I love helping others reconnect with their passion through art—it’s truly rewarding to see clients discover their own joie de vivre.
In June 2024, I opened IKIGAI STUDIOS & GALLERY to share this joy and create meaningful experiences through art. Whether it’s individuals, couples, families, or teams, we have fun making art without pressure—embracing mistakes, starting over, and celebrating the process. Helping families create their “Canvas of Memories” to commemorate life’s special moments is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.
I’m a proud member of Fine Arts League of Cary and Co-chair of FALC’s Annual Juried Exhibitions for the 2nd time this year. In January 2025, I was so honored to be the Featured Artist by FALC at the Final Friday “Meet the Artist”. I’ve also judged the Women’s Club of NC District VI Arts Festival. My work has been shown in several local venues including The Mayton Hotel, the Page Walker Arts & History Center, Glenaire and the Durham Golden Belt Community Art Show.
Together with my friends in the Triangle art community we are striving to build an art powerhouse! I would not have been able to start Ikigai Studios & Gallery in Cary without the generous help from so many amazing artists! I am truly grateful!
Most days you’ll find me in the studio—often painting late into the night. I love when people pop in after hearing live music at Bond Brothers Eastside and see my OPEN sign glowing. They always say, “Wow! You’re really open?!” And yes, I am! I do sneak away now and then to travel, see live performances, or cheer on my daughters at their tennis matches. Life is about living fully and learning how others express themselves.
Come visit soon—whether it’s for a creative session or just a cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of wine. I’d love to see you!
